IT Performance and Planning Analyst
 
Our client is seeking an Analyst, Performance & Planning in Miramar, FL. The Analyst, Performance & Planning will be responsible for the functional and technical ownership on an internal resource planning system that focuses on prioritization, project/labor tracking, and resource alignment across E-Commerce initiatives.
 
The Analyst, Performance & Planning will support the implementation and administration of the resource management solution across the organization with the goal of ensuring alignment across our corporation, and its business partners, and improving the successful execution of initiatives. The Analyst will partner across teams to enhance resource management processes while identifying improvement areas and create and implement recommendations. This role will train and educate stakeholders on resource management procedures and ensure team members execute in compliance with standards.
 
In addition, this role is responsible for supporting a team of Resource Managers with respect to tracking, planning and forecasting project-related labor activities. The Analyst, Performance & Planning will provide resource management guidance as it relates to maintaining data integrity within the tool to help teams gain better insight into their portfolio's performance allowing teams to improve planning efforts and ensure predictable delivery. The Analyst, Performance & Planning will be charged with assisting in driving the organization's resource management capability towards best practice. In addition, this role will educate teams to adopt resource management best practices by providing the necessary leadership and ensure teams are adhering to resource management standards. This role will also assist with soliciting feedback to streamline processes as part of the ongoing process improvement initiatives for resource management.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support functions such as project planning, issue management, risk tracking and mitigation, resource tracking and score carding.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Resource Managers to ensure standards, processes and tools are effectively applied to manage projects.
  • Work with Resource Managers to solicit, & analyze data required for performance metrics and reporting and assess trends, recommend findings that will help improve the performance of the portfolio specifically in use of project management discipline and delivery.
  • Assist with follow-up reviews to ensure appropriate corrective actions have been implemented by resource teams.
  • Support ongoing onboarding of resources in Resource Management tool (Vision), evaluating process, quality, issue resolution and taking corrective action or escalating issues as needed.
  • Develop and deliver new workflows across assigned portfolios and programs, ensuring teams are adhering to guidelines.
  • Financial performance reporting of assigned programs and portfolios from capital and operating perspectives.
  • Analyzes capacity data and identifies common capacity problems or bottlenecks and possible solutions.
  • Understands and can summarize the budgeting process cycle, necessary inputs and reporting requirements.
  • Interprets and explains results of data-gathering initiatives.
  • Maintain Resource Management tool training materials and provide training sessions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Capacity Planning:
    • Assesses the relationship between capacity, performance and service level requirements.
    • Applies appropriate tools and methods for capacity planning & performance management of applications.
    • Analyzes capacity data and identifies common capacity problems or bottlenecks.
    • Works with developers and users to plan resource requirements for networks or systems under development.
    • Produces, collates and reports capacity-related measurements to examine application service levels.
  • Process Management:
    • Identifies, designs, implements and monitors common process bottlenecks.
    • Walks through steps, decisions, measurements, dependencies and hand-offs for a specific process.
    • Document types of process decisions and potential impact of each decision.
    • Creates process flow or workflow diagrams.
  • Data Gathering and Reporting:
    • Participates in projects to gather data for needs analysis.
    • Detects and summarizes patterns in data and findings by producing simple reports.
    • Customizes data fields to meet clients' needs.
    • Assesses common problems and obstacles surrounding data-gathering.
    • Interprets and explains results of a data-gathering initiative.
  • Budgeting:
    • Describes major budget items in own organization in general terms.
    • Explains the various purposes and uses of budgets.
    • Lists essential elements of a budget.
    • Summarizes the budgeting process cycle, necessary inputs and reporting requirements.
    • Supplies supporting information and justification for major line items
  • Producing Results:
    • Explains the concept of adapting tactics to support changing needs.
    • Explains the difference between effort and achievement.
    • Explains the importance of producing results that matter to the business.
    • Provides examples of using back-channel methods to get things done.
  • Employee Expectations:

    • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice

Skillset / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or related subject and/or demonstrated capability through four (4) previous years of experience and education
  • Two (2) years of experience in Program/Project Management with Delivery experience.
  • Two (2) years financial or accounting experience in a project delivery or support role.
  • Knowledge of project portfolio management skills (project intake, resource planning, demand management, budget management).
  • Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Outlook, MS Project, Microsoft Office tools
  • Creation of PowerPoint presentations for leadership audiences.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Strong research, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

 
Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Project and Portfolio or Resource Management tools a plus.
  • Experience with Staff Augmentation programs a plus.

 
Physical Demands:

  • While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information. The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10 to 15 pounds. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 
Work Environment:

  • The role will primarily function within the professional IT and business office environments located in South Florida; some occasional business travel is required. The space is in compliance with safety, environment, health, and accessibility requirements.
