Title: Technical Services Lead
Location: state of Virginia
Duration:  direct hire
Compensation: Hourly position based on experience and skillset ($35 – $40/hour)

Position Summary:

The Technical Services Lead is a pivotal position that encompasses key functions in a new territory: performing preventative maintenance, site inspections, general quoting and service required by PPSI on power generation units in the field ranging from 50-3000 KW, spearheading business development efforts within an emerging territory, and supervising, leading and training technicians within the territory. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in emergency generator systems, the ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and strategically identify growth opportunities, and effective leadership and mentoring skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Lead and supervise a team of technicians responsible for emergency generator installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
· Perform hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of emergency generator systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
· Research, identify, and prioritize potential clients and market segments within the assigned territory.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive sales, revenue growth, and market penetration.
· Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers, architects, contractors, and facility managers, acting as a trusted advisor for power infrastructure solutions.
· Collaborate with engineering teams to implement innovative solutions, upgrades, and enhancements to generator systems.
· Maintain accurate documentation, including service reports, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
· Conduct training sessions and workshops for customers covering a wide range of topics, including generator operation, power distribution, load management, and equipment troubleshooting.
· Collaborate with the Training Department to assist in the execution of technician training.
· Lead and mentor a team of technicians, fostering a collaborative and highly functioning team.
· Conduct quality control inspections.
· Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers, architects, contractors, and facility managers, acting as a trusted advisor for power infrastructure solutions.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor product and service offerings to meet client needs, presenting compelling proposals and value propositions.
· Track and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to adapt and refine business strategies.

Education & Qualifications:

· Proven track record of at least 5 years in emergency generator maintenance and repair, with comprehensive knowledge of generator systems, control panels, engines, and electrical systems.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians.
· Demonstrated success in business development, sales, or account management.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Analytical mindset, capable of understanding technical details.
· Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools.
· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
