Title: Sr Network Engineer
Location: Fully Remote, preference are to individuals local to Dallas-Fort Worth area
Duration: Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: Between $50.00 to $65.00 hourly on w/2

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced individual to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining their network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. You will work closely with their IT support, security, and operations teams to develop and implement solutions that meet the needs of the business.
The ideal candidate has:

• A strong technical background in network administration and security, with experience managing firewalls, SD-WAN, and connectivity at multiple locations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain the company's Fortinet firewall and SD-WAN solutions to ensure network security and reliability.

• Manage connectivity at 600+ shops, including configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and access points.
• Plan and implement network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
• Monitor network performance and analyze network traffic to identify and resolve issues.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support, security, and operations teams to ensure the smooth operation of the network.

 
Skillset / Experience:
Network Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in network administration or a related field, with a focus on managing firewalls and SD-WAN solutions.
• Strong experience with Fortinet firewall and SD-WAN solutions, including configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing connectivity at multiple locations, including experience with routers, switches, and access points.
• Familiarity with cloud networking, including AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN networking technologies, protocols, and hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other network protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Network Automation and Orchestration
• Familiarity with Cloud Networking and Virtualization
• Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection
• Strong communication and leadership skills to manage projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate effectively with other teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously can also be an advantage.
