Summary:
This role embodies a distinguished subject matter expert in Project Management, consistently assuming leadership in critical organizational projects and impactful programs. By providing strategic direction and support to program and project teams, including ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals and objectives, this role drives transformative change. Responsible for policy definition, strategic architecture, and best practice recommendations, this position influences not only daily operations but also the broader strategic landscape. While occasionally overseeing project support roles, it primarily functions as an individual contributor, occasionally taking on project team leadership.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Define and oversee the development of the lifecycle of projects and programs from planning to execution, implementation, launch, communication, delivery, and maintenance.
- Track and report on project deliverables using appropriate tools; Prepare concise written reports based on expert level independent analysis or research.
- Communicating effectively and continually leading and managing project expectations with team members both internally and other stakeholders as a representative of the organization.
- Creating and providing regular metrics to manage, measure, and report project/program progress to stakeholders, management, and staff.
- Ensure excellent quality and management of project and program deliverables.
- Facilitates resolution of conflicting priorities and interests.
- Identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies, while communicating with project sponsors ; Prioritizing and escalating issues to senior management in a timely manner when necessary.
- Solving complex problems, recommending best practices, and developing new methods and process improvements related to projects as appropriate.
- Lead project and program evaluations and assessment of results at the close of major project milestones
- Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels.
- Work with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.
- Coordinate with senior leadership on roadmaps, planning, and governance.
- Identify, locate and acquire training resources and content that map to the need.
- Manage teams of analysts, product managers, and program managers to implement the projects and programs.
- Issue standard and ad-hoc reports on status, progress, and issues.
- Work with stakeholders to continuously improve the process.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of project mgmt and full cycle experience, including at least 8 years of multiple cross-function project management or program management experience.
- PMP Certification required.
- Master's Degree recommended.
