POSITION SUMMARY: 

  • The IT Scrum Master (SM) /Project Manager (PM) plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company's Project Management Office (PMO) functions. This position will primarily be responsible, under limited supervision, for acting as the Scrum Master and/or Project Manager on various IT Agile initiatives in accordance with Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes. This role will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver IT initiatives according to plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Guide project teams in implementing agile methodology rules to deliver rapid and reliable business products.
• Remove blockers or impediments that hinder project progress.
• Foster a good relationship/communication between the team, the Product Owner, and others outside of the team.
• Set up and facilitate sprint planning and other scrum meetings (i.e. backlog refinement, daily scrum, demos, etc.).
• Manage the team's sprints, boards, and dashboards in Jira.
• Facilitate release planning meetings with Product Owner and Development Lead.
• Arrange and optimize the product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner.
• Collaborate with project teams to estimate sprint velocity projects. Manage the day to day technical issues with the team.
• Monitor and report progress of the sprint (e.g. Burn down chart).
• Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize projects. Conduct Sprint retrospectives at the end of a sprint.
• Report their actual level of effort in the agreed upon time tracking system.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans with some supervision.
• Prepare/author key project documentation including project plans, status reports, communication plans, and other documentation deemed necessary.
• Track project milestones, budgets/expenses, and performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals and deliverables.
• Keep management and key stakeholders well informed on a timely basis on project progress, status and/or concerns to ensure that expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project/scrum team.
• Partner with other project managers develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Conduct project lessons learned/sprint retrospectives and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of Scrum Master experience and 2-3 years of Project Management experience with implementation in small to medium environments required.
• Agile scrum master certifications required. (e.g. CSM {Certified Scrum Master} or PMI-ACP {Agile Certified Practitioner})
• Previous mortgage banking experience preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Jira and Confluence preferred.
• Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise level application development projects.
• Project Management Certifications preferred. (e.g. PMP {Project Management Professional} or CAPM {Certified Associate in Project Management})
• Proficient understanding of technical equipment and software packages (e.g. Project Management software).
• Proficient relationship management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
