Facility Maintenance Technician 

General Purpose of Job:

The Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more of the following fields, (e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, basic ventilation, and plumbing, etc.). Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.

• Change of all filters for HVAC as required.

• Remove and properly dispose of all recyclable materials.

• Maintain exterior property / cleaning exterior entryway/cigarette receptacles.

• Oversee daily trash removal.

• Maintain janitorial supplies for restocking/cleaning restrooms.

• Maintain facilities chemical supplies.

• Maintain facilities removal of waste chemicals.

• Maintain facilities removal of scrap materials.

Preferred Skills & Certifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Knowledge of: Power and hand tools used in facilities maintenance, use of personal computer, OSHA workplace health and safety standards and procedures.

• Skill in: Computer use to maintain logs, respond to service requests and emails, monitor, and manage work orders in the computerized maintenance mantis system.
