About the Role
We are seeking experienced Epic certified EHR analyst in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation as we will be entering our build phase of our project (migrating from Cerner to Epic)
Description / Scope of Work
- Completing application build requirements module tasks assigned as part of our first new install of Epic Electronic E.H.R implementation project
- Complete assigned application tasks as part of implementation project timeline/milestones/phase
- Workflow analysis, build, and documentation in collaboration with internal and external team members.
- Ability to translate requirement/concepts into functionality.
- Complete assigned tasks/assignments, proactively aligned with project scope and build requirements set forth by our Epic Project Team
- Completion of assigned application tasks on time as set forth by our Epic Project team alignment with our Implementation timeline/project phase to support our project Go live readiness
- Assist with facilitating end-user/business owner needs into system specifications and configuration requirements based on Epic Foundation build under the direction of the Epic Project team Manage navigation of migration paths, change control process/governance, and ticket management processes.
- Maintains high standards for quality application design, build, testing, and other tasks.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ensures adequate documentation is provided for support of build and end-user training utilizing the tools specified by the Epic project team
- On time delivery of tasks assigned as part of our implementation
- Adherence to Epic foundation build and build design tasks, guiding principles, change control process, affiliate naming and numbering convention as set forth as part of the implementation project.
- Participation in project implementation activities and events, workflow, design team, project team meetings
- Provide input, acts as a team resource, utilizes Epic system knowledge, provides excellent customer service
- Facilitates workflow adoption of new processes.
- Comprehends and practices standards such as shared vs. separate build guidelines,
- Takes personal ownership of issues, ensures a high degree of accuracy with all communications/deliverables, completes tasks according to committed timelines, demonstrates excellent service recovery, and communicates with customers in a consistent manner.
- Maintains up-to-date application knowledge for assigned applications/process areas.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to further knowledge to address issues or complete assigned tasks.
- Participates in discussions related to the development of training content for users.
- Under the direction of senior project team members, performs workflow analysis and design, execute build requirements
- Facilitates workflow adoption on new processes
- Participates in system testing events by executing scripts, analyst project activities dictated by our Epic project phases to assist in on time/on budget Epic project implementation.
- Accurately documents and reports any noted errors or deficiencies.
- Maintains up-to-date application knowledge for assigned applications/process areas.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to further knowledge to address issues or complete assigned task
- Provides support to departments/end users during system upgrades and optimization activities.
Examples of Duties
Examples of duties include but not limited to:
- Fulfilling Epic module build requirements for the assisted module that the analyst has a current/active Epic certification (in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation) , as part of our new installation of Epic.
- Obtaining Build requirements under the guidance of the Epic Project Team
- Collaborating with SME's, SMCH Analysts, Epic analysts and project Team
- Meeting project deadlines for build requirements
- Documentation of build and design decisions within specified project tracking tools and locations
- Participation in Workgroup design and build sessions
- Provide feedback and possible recommendations based on Epic Foundation build
- Participates in planning, implementation and project phase activities for the assigned application module which will include being on-site at times (hybrid- some remote work) with the customer, gathering specifications, asking discovery questions, capturing process gaps, demonstrating Epic foundation build and workflow design, and tracking risk/issues and requests.
- Completion of assigned application tasks on time as set forth by our Epic Project team alignment with our Implementation timeline/project phase to support our project Go live readiness.
Requirements
- Current Active Epic Certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation
- A minimum of 2 years of Epic model design, build, implementation experience within a healthcare organization
- Be able to meet onsite (hybrid) requirements approximately 1 week per month in San Mateo CA. (Possible other times to be on site: for meetings)
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application systems analysis, workflow analysis, build, design, testing, interface knowledge and programming activities.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the inpatient/outpatient registration/scheduling environment and hospital operations, procedures/functions and the relationships between them.
- Exhibits solid knowledge of the registration and scheduling workflows and the integration with clinical processes and practices.
Qualification
- Current Active Epic Certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation.
Education and Experience
- Two (2)+ years of Epic "assisted application design, build, implementation experience within a healthcare organization
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare, or related field. (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Electronic health record systems, specifically Epic software applications.
Software development life cycle including requirement gathering and analysis, design, implementation or coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Design, implementation, testing, updating, maintenance, evaluation, and analysis of system configuration, system setup, and application tables.
Clinical applications and regulatory standards, a wide range of application functionality, content, and associated workflows.
Policies, procedures, and business operations.
Adherence to Established project guiding principles
Adherence to procedures in project management and project management methodologies utilized with new Epic installations in a healthcare organization
Approaches problems constructively by focusing on how to move a project forward.
Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates solid organizational skills.
Possesses strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, written and oral.
Demonstrates the ability to adapt to project changes related to scope, schedule, workflow, and system utilization.

Must possess the ability to understand the integration of applications and their impact on business process and operations.
Some Remote work (details)
This is a hybrid position that will have approximately on average 1 week of onsite (in the San Mateo area) requirement per month. And must be on site as needed for meetings.
