Job Description:

Looking for an Avaya "core” unified communication (UC) engineer responsible for design, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, daily operation and upgrading of "core” Avaya Aura Products including System Manager, Session Manager, Communications Manager, Media Server, Voice Gateways G450/G430/G650, Application Enablement (AES), CC Elite, SIP trunks and SIP endpoints. 

**This is travel heavy position (50%), supporting our client projects throughout the United States. This person can be based anywhere in the United States**

Skillset / Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will meet the below minimum required qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years UC Engineer experience, OR combination of a Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, computer science or related field PLUS at least 4 years Avaya Aura UC (voice) Engineer experience.
  • Proven expertise with Avaya Aura Rel 8 or newer solutions including System Manager, Session Manager, Communication Manager, Media Services, Device Services, WebLM & AES.
  • Minimum 4 years hands-on leadership of voice projects and teams with Avaya Aura UC enterprise portfolio, including customer relations during project initiation, implementation, close out and post cut support.
  • Current Avaya Certifications or Credentials for Aura platforms, R8 or later (ACIS & ACSS).
  • Large, multi-site voice/server/network systems planning, design and installation experience.
  • Generation and installation of internal and external CA certificates, System Manager & 3 rd party certificates.
  • Current certification or recently held Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 qualification and the ability to qualify for a U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the year.
  • Work requires continuous moderate with some strenuous physical exertion including standing, climbing, crawling, and regular lifting of objects over 50 pounds.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Microsoft Server 2016 / 2019 physical and virtual server deployment in a VMware ESXi 6.5 or higher environment. VMware ESXi 7.0 is a plus.
  • Developing and implementing dial plans to include dial plan migration in session manager and Communication Manager, and use of Provision to export, merge, modify and import dialing and numbering plans.
  • Avaya CMS R18 or later installation, upgrade, administration and reporting experience. CMS R19.2 or later is a plus.
  • Avaya IX Messaging R10 or later installation, upgrade and administration experience. Avaya Messaging R11 is a plus.
  • Avaya Session Border Controller Enterprise R8 or later installation and upgrade experience. This includes SIP Trunking migrations as well as Remote Worker deployments. ASBCE Rel 10.x is a plus.
  • System and enterprise level backups for Avaya Applications, Microsoft and VMware.
  • Avaya systems security hardening, including knowledge of implementing systems to comply with Military Unique Deployment Guides.
