Summary:
The Avaya Engineer is responsible for providing Avaya Aura programming and software configuration support to customers and implementation teams. Focused on delivering best-in-class enterprise communication solutions, the successful candidate will work within a team environment to stage/install and troubleshoot Avaya Aura solutions, including System Manager, Session Manager, Communication Manager, IX Messaging, AES, Workplace, and more. The Avaya Engineer must be a self-starter, organized, able to interact with technical and non-technical customers and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and upgrade and support of major Avaya core components Communication Manager (CM), Session Manager (SM), System Manager (SMGR) and Avaya Session Border Controller (SBC)
  • Hands-on experience with IX Messaging and AES
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise integrations with including knowledge and experience with Avaya gateways and media servers
  • VMware knowledge preferred
  • Linux commands preferred
  • Able to work directly with sales, solution design, and project teams to fully implement core solutions and follow and interpret configuration documentation
  • Possess a working ability to us the Avaya Provision Tool
  • Possess an understanding and configuration abilities to support SIP protocols and SIP users
  • Possess an understanding of internal and external certificates and their installation on products
  • Develop and execute project implementation method of procedures (MOP), test and validations plans, and troubleshooting/validation methods
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter and capable of working independently with flexible hours including nights and weekends when required
  • Quick learning ability to learn future skills as per business requirement
  • Understanding of basic networking principals required
  • Must have a strong customer focus
  • Tier 1- and 2-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to present oneself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Cross-organizational effectiveness and thought leadership.
