Title: Head of Energy Storage
Location: Purchase, NY
Duration: Direct Hire
Compensation: 265k-300k

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Energy Storage to join their team and help build an effective, scalable procurement infrastructure by managing construction-related subcontract and services engagements from procurement through project execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team focused on energy storage projects (both standalone and PV Coupled)
  • Develop an energy storage pipeline to complement the company's PV pipeline
  • Lead the develop and design of standalone storage projects in NY and potentially other states
  • Collaborate with development and EPC teams on development and design of PV coupled energy storage projects in CA, NY, MA, PR, and other states where economics of energy storage is or will soon be viable
  • Manage relationships with and negotiate contracts with BESS equipment, EPC's, and EMS suppliers
  • Collaborate with the finance team and business leaders to model costs and revenues of energy storage systems

Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Renewable energy industry experience
  • 5+ years experience implementing PV coupled and standalone storage, both FTM and BTM, in NY, California, MA, and PR
  • In depth knowledge of Li-ion based energy storage systems and associated components including EMS, BMS, PCS, thermal management systems, and battery cell technology.
  • In depth knowledge of NEC, IEC, UL, and NFPA codes and standards applicable to energy storage
  • In depth knowledge of state programs (i.e NYSERDA, CSGT/GTSR, etc), local utility and NFPA requirements for energy storage systems. Experience with PREPA ATR a plus.
  • Knowledge of energy storage incentive programs (current and proposed) in the U.S.
  • Experience negotiating energy storage supply, EPC, and EMS contracts
  • Experience working on multiple high-value projects while prioritizing effectively, managing competing expectations, and meeting deadlines
  • Impeccable attention to detail and delivery of high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Familiarity with SalesForce, Procore, and GSuite,
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the State where you reside
  • Ability and willingness to pass background checks
