Position: Scrum Master

Location: Full Remote

Duration: 6-12 month contract to hire  

Compensation: $40-50/hour  

 

Responsibilities:
Facilitate Agile Processes:

  • Act as a servant leader and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Guide and coach the product team in adopting Agile best practices and ensuring adherence to Scrum principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remove any impediments or roadblocks that may hinder the team's progress.
  • Foster a collaborative and self-organizing team environment that encourages creativity, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Project Management:

  • Continuously monitor project risks and dependencies, and proactively identify and address potential issues that may impact delivery timelines or quality.
  • Work closely with the product owner to define and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that user stories are clear, concise, and actionable.
  • Assist in estimating and planning sprints, monitoring sprint progress, and ensuring that sprint goals are met.
  • Track and report key project metrics, such as velocity and burndown, to provide transparency and visibility to stakeholders.

Coach and Mentor:

  • Guide and mentor the development team on Agile practices, empowering them to become self-organized and cross-functional.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by providing feedback, facilitating knowledge sharing, and promoting Agile principles and values.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and across stakeholders, ensuring alignment and shared understanding of project goals.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and other teams to ensure alignment of priorities, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes, ensuring that the team and stakeholders are engaged and involved in critical project decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, frameworks, and best practices, particularly Scrum.
  • Excellent facilitation and mentoring skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality results.
    • Familiarity with Agile project management tools and software development practices.
