Title: Firmware Software Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 3 months (possible extensions)

Compensation: $90 – $100/hr W2

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Job Description: The main function of a Firmware Software Engineer is to apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems. This includes operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various applications such as medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve modifications to existing databases and database management systems.
  • Guide staff in writing and coding database descriptions and specifications.
  • Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations.
  • Review project requests to estimate time and cost.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect computer files.
  • Approve, schedule, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and system improvements.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for software use and acquisition to protect information.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in programming embedded systems in C
  • Experience as an embedded software engineer supporting firmware design
  • Understanding of wireless protocols TCP/IP, ethernet, Bluetooth and 802.11
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Proficiency in computer development software such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field required.
