Title: Kubernetes Platform Architect
Location: Irving, TX 75039 (5 days onsite)
Duration: Direct Hire Full Time
Compensation: $200,000 – $210,000 + up to 15% bonus
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US

Kubernetes Platform Architect

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement scalable, multi-tenant Kubernetes solutions that support diverse operational needs across group companies.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate the setup and deployment of Kubernetes clusters, ensuring repeatable and efficient processes.
  • Simplify the Kubernetes deployment process to create a user-friendly environment that abstracts underlying complexities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust monitoring framework to manage and oversee Kubernetes cluster services and fleet operations effectively.
  • Create detailed documentation of the Kubernetes architecture, deployment processes, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for the current staff to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including cluster setup, scaling, and management.
  • Expertise in Docker and other containerization technologies, along with container registry management.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Strong experience with cloud computing services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including familiarity with their managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS, GKE).
  • Ability to implement comprehensive monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
  • Competence in scripting and automation using languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Knowledge of network and security best practices within Kubernetes environments.
  • Ability to act both as an individual contributor and as a technical leader within large, diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Nice to have:

  • Proficiency in GitOps methodologies, particularly using Flux, to maintain consistency and reliability across Kubernetes deployments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes Operators for managing complex applications within the Kubernetes environment.
  • Knowledge in managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters using fleet management practices to ensure streamlined operations across multiple deployments.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage advanced Kubernetes features and tools to optimize and secure containerized applications.
