Location: HYBRID REMOTE – Atlanta, GA 30319 (3 DAYS)
Duration: Direct Hire Full Time
Compensation: $110,000 – $135,000

Azure Administrator

The Azure Administrator manages and maintains the cloud infrastructure on Azure platform. Duties include creating and managing virtual machines, storage, database, application services and networking resources required to support cloud-based applications, security and compliance implementation, and monitoring the cloud environment to encourage maximum uptime and cost efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and secure network infrastructure, including virtual networks, subnets, security groups, and access controls within Comany Azure tenant.
  • Create and manage virtual machines, storage, database and related app services.
  • Administration and management of user accounts using Entra ID, including SSO and multi-factor authentication implementation.
  • Provide support and administration for Office 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
  • Provide support for Azure Virtual Desktop deployments, including user access, performance optimization, and security for disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure cloud environments are secure and compliant with industry standards and company policies. Implement and manage security measures such as firewalls, network security groups, and Azure Security Center.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM templates to streamline operations.
  • Monitor the performance and health of cloud resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other tools and optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency through regular analysis and recommendation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Azure VMs, ensuring high availability and performance. Diagnose and fix network connectivity issues including VPNs, firewalls, ExpressRoute, and VNet peering.
  • Collaborate with internal Information Services teams, Azure service providers, and vendors to develop and implement technical solutions and support processes.
  • Mentor team members on Azure networking and security solutions, while staying current with evolving technologies through continuous education.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Technical qualifications include:

  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Azure in a large-scale environment.
  • Experience with Windows system administration and Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
  • Understanding of cloud security frameworks and best practices.
  • Expertise in networking and security engineering, including designing, building, testing, and debugging enterprise and public cloud networks. Azure networking, cloud native firewalls and load balancers, routing and switching, BGP, DNS, Private Links, Application Gateways, unified threat management, and IPS.
  • Experience in deploying Azure cloud integrations using Express Route, Virtual WAN, Transit Gateway, SDWAN, VPN, and other cloud-solutions specific to Azure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerShell, Cloud Formation Templates, Postman, and automating security processes or configurations in Azure.
  • Ability to leverage tools to streamline cloud security and network configurations.
  • Ability to identify potential system problems and propose ways to avert those problems.
  • An understanding of the specific and global impact of changes to the operating, communications and technical systems and the ability to provide system direction in regard to the requests.

  • An understanding of the application of the Company's business policy relative to operations, communications and technical support
  • A knowledge of economic and operational factors that lead to success in the Company's business units.
  • An ability to lead and/or facilitate technical sessions with users.
  • An ability to translate technical needs into functional requirements.
  • An understanding and evaluation of the business implications of technical support issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Three or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Incumbent must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Individual must have ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, end users and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • The incumbent should have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
  • In addition, the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is important.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze collected data, define and validate problems and resolve using common analytical methods of reasoning.
  • Must be able to interpret and comprehend a variety of technical diagrams and instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals certifications are a plus.
