Title: Support Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL- Hybrid (3 day onsite)
Duration: Direct Hire
Compensation: $60K-$70K
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US
Perform intermediate technical work maintaining and troubleshooting components of our client’s data and telecommunications infrastructure, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Information Technology Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors servers and workstations including installation of security patches on all systems; tracks and maintains all software updates, firmware upgrades and system patches as needed; recommends new hardware and software needs.
- Assists network system users with software applications; troubleshoots hardware and software responding to support tickets; assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers in the main office, co-location facilities and remote offices.
- Coordinates with respective support vendors to bring resolution to any issues related to our clients’ core applications, including cloud-based applications such as the Microsoft O365 suite.
- Assist with the phone system at all office locations.
- Create, test and document ticket resolutions for previous product tickets reported.
- Resolves Staff support inquiries and issues on time, professionally and with a positive attitude.
- Provide Tier 1 Support for Help Desk tickets for internal our client’s staff.
- Provide support for our Members with technical issues.
- Develop and create documentation and support materials for curriculum for teaching our client’s staff on the use of Agency applications.
- Work closely with other departments for collaborating on IT projects.
- Analyze complex computer systems and network hardware, identify problems, and develop and implement logical conclusions and effective solutions.
- This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work frequently speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; ; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Skillset / Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer or information science, or Associate's degree in computer or information science with IT certifications
- VMware training / experience
- Networking (Cisco/ Dell) training / experience
- Experience with Human Resource functions and industry platforms such as SAP, SuccessFactors, or Workday
- Thorough knowledge of IT related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws
- Knowledge of network installation, operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of electronic data processing main and peripheral equipment
- Knowledge of hardware or software procedures and techniques;
- Knowledge of integrated telephone system
- Knowledge of the functions and operating of Agency departments as it relates to the technological needs of the organization
- Knowledge of the operation of personal computers and other computerized systems
- Ability to write clear and concise reports
- Ability to analyze software programs and recommend program adjustments
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, industry professionals, and the general public
