Job Title: Electrical Engineer II
Location: Round Rock, Austin (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Compensation: Between $55.00 to $75.00 hourly
Description:
My client is a leading manufacturer of notebooks, servers, LCDs, smart devices, etc. As an ODM supplier to Dell, my client is responsible for engineering design implementation and manufacturing of mobile PCs and server products. My client works directly with Dell to support proof of concepts, development and sustaining for products delivered. This individual will partner with team members in Taiwan and China, to ensure smooth engagement and successful delivery of new products. The ideal individual will bridge communication and to drive alignment of expectations, as well as direct involvement with the teams.
Skillset/Experience
- Understand system requirements for Mobile and Server Computing.
- Work closely with Senior Engineering staff, to understand and analyze system architecture.
- Work independently with electrical issues, troubleshooting steps, and problem resolution.
- Independently manage field failures, demonstrate engineering rigor to find root cause, and recommend solutions.
- Drive development of debug/test plans, execute them, analyze results to validate solutions and drive implementation.
- Provide support for debug and failure analysis of multiple issues.
- Provide technical support for server and client system issues escalated by Dell during the development phase
- Work with Dell and Compal engineering team members to ensure global support of ongoing development efforts.
- Support design/development of new systems.
- Communicate issue status by providing weekly issue updates (by status updates to tracking tools, email updates and PPT issue summaries).
- Train/support other team members
- Work with Dell team to support front end activities
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3-8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related position.
Nice to Have's:
- Experience with server design and server debug.
- Experience with high speed design, including schematic entry, PCB design, and designing for signal integrity.
