Position: Application Engineer II
Location: Remote
Duration: Direct Hire 
Compensation: $125,000 – 130,000
Work: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US. 

General Summary

As part of the Information Technology team, the Application Engineer II has a senior role that includes the creation, support, and enhancements of the organization's applications while also mentoring and supporting more junior members of the team. Create and update documentation, coding and unit testing, support quality assurance with defect repairs, and provide this growing organization with building our application infrastructure with the latest tools during migration and post-migration efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable software applications utilizing best practices
  • Collaborate with product teams, customers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and accurately define scope and success criteria
  • Develop and maintain software documentation
  • Write and execute unit, integration, and system tests
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues
  • Stay up-to-date with latest software development technologies and trends

Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of SDLC
  • Highly proficient in all required programming languages/technologies required (e.g., Java, Javascript, Typescript, Python, Web, .Net, APIs etc.)
  • Experience working with databases, both relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (mongodb, dynamodb)
  • Experience developing containerized solutions within a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with version control, GIT preferred, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Creative thinking and analytical skills

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or the equivalent in education and work experience
  • 8+ years experience developing applications
