Title: Support Engineer/Lab Technician
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 6 months, can extend
Compensation: $32-33/hr
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our optical systems and satellite manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with experience in laboratory settings and maintenance of high-precision equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
– Assist in the calibration and testing of optical systems and satellite components.
– Conduct quality control inspections and document test results.
– Maintain and troubleshoot optical testing setups and associated hardware.
– Ensure compliance with ESD and cleanroom protocols.
– Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
– Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of tools and supplies.
– Participate in training programs and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
– Associate degree in Optical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
– Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment for high precision optical products.
– Familiarity with optical testing methods and equipment (interferometers, power meters, fiber optic architecture)
– Proficient in the use of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and laboratory equipment.
– Strong understanding of ESD control measures and cleanroom standards.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
– Experience with satellite systems and related technologies.
– Knowledge of CAD software (NX UGS) and technical documentation practices. Familiarity with PLM Software (Teamcenter) a plus.
– Certification in ESD control or clean room operations is a plus.
– Laser Safety Officer Certification
