Location: Miramar, FL
Duration: 6+ months
Compensation: $85.00 – 95.00/hr

Solution Architect

Overview:
Core focus is a sustainable technical architecture, and the role is responsible for the design of one or more end-to-end solutions, a product or a business or IT service. Works closely with cross functional business and technical teams. The individual has a balanced mix of technical and very strong business skills, working with an enterprise architect for strategic direction. The individual leads the overall technical vision for a particular platform (across all modules) or solution(s) to provide a business product or a business/IT service. The individual can make technical decisions regarding a solution, and how the technology design impacts business outcomes. The development or infrastructure teams use the information to implement the solution to meet business outcomes. The individual has very strong Director level leadership and behavior competencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver appropriate solutions across application or infrastructure platforms
  • Assist Enterprise Architects in defining enterprise vison
  • Define and enforce application development standards across the enterprise
  • Ensure solutions designed adhere to enterprise architecture standards
  • Stay up to date on platform, infrastructure/application development technologies and capabilities
  • Expert in application development, database design, and/or platform (operating system) efforts,
    helping project teams comply with enterprise policies, industry regulations, and best practices
  • Work with Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate risks and solutions to cross functional key stakeholders
  • Research, design, and advocate new technologies, architectures, and products that will support business and IT requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners, and vendors
  • Evaluate and develop application-level architectures for application development
  • Develop, in concert with Application Architects a reliable, top performing and cost-effective platform architecture
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the [platform strategy and architecture
  • Organize the development effort
  • Provide motivation and guidance to the entire development team during the systems development life cycle
  • Responsible for the vision that underlies the solution and the execution of that vision into the solution
  • Looks after the programming, integration, and testing of software systems and associated devices
  • Select the most appropriate technology for a problem, and involve balancing architectural concerns of the project with the concerns of the enterprise

Responsible for:

  • How technology can be used to solve a given business problem
  • Which framework, platform, or tech-stack can be used to create a solution
  • How the application will look, what the modules will be, and how they interact with each other
  • How things will scale for the future and how they will be maintained
  • Figuring out the risk in third-party frameworks/platforms
  • Finding a solution to a business problem
  • The sustainability of a solution

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 10 or more years of work experience in IT, with a broad exposure to different platforms and technologies
  • Expert knowledge of solution/application development issues, techniques, and implications across one or more platforms
  • Broad experience with and exposure to multiple platform environments to enable the proper perspective and ability to design application or infrastructure solutions at an enterprise level
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and disciplines
  • Executive level people and process skills
  • Can explain to senior executives a complex problem in laymen's terms
  • Strong understanding of business' processes in order to create a cohesive vision of a usable product
  • Expanded technical knowledge in more than 1 area of a platform (SAP, Microsoft, SalesForce)

Skill Set required:

 

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), microservices architectures, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes (Github/Guthub Actions).
  • Deep understanding of both client-side and server-side technologies, including React, React Native, JavaScript, GraphQL, Apollo, Java (with Spring), Node.js.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to staying current with industry developments and bringing innovative ideas to the table.
  • Ability to create comprehensive architecture artifacts that clearly document design decisions, system interactions, and project roadmaps
