Backend Engineer

ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing and scaling new data pipelines for our Machine Learning solutions. This role involves designing and implementing Spark jobs, integrating with Solr for data indexing, and crafting business logic pipelines that connect with Oracle databases. You will work closely with QA and DevOps teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery into production for backend services.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
As a Backend Engineer, you will:
Build new pipelines to index data into ML solutions – Design and execute Spark jobs to handle data indexing with Solr. Implement scalable business logic pipelines sourced from Oracle. Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to take solutions through the full development lifecycle. Develop backend services with a focus on distributed systems, multithreading, and high-performance architecture.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (top 3 must-haves)

1. Java Expertise:

   • 5+ years of Java development experience.
   • Proficiency in multithreading, thread-safe coding, and distributed architecture.
   • Experience building web services and designing solutions for parallel processing.

2. Spring Framework:

   • Deep understanding of Spring Boot and Spring architecture.

3. Kafka Knowledge:

   • Strong experience with Kafka, including topics, partitions, and consumer/producer configurations.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with Spark, Solr, Hibernate, Oracle, and Cassandra.
• Familiarity with scaling distributed systems.
• Knowledge of additional backend technologies and tools supporting big data processing.
