Database Administrator

ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Admin Support professional to join our Single Store DBA Team. In this role, you will be working with large distributed databases and focusing on automation to ensure efficient and scalable database operations. Your expertise in Postgres and Python will be crucial in automating processes and maintaining high performance in a cluster solution environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

As a Database Admin Support specialist, you will play a key role in managing and automating our distributed database infrastructure. You will work closely with a team of talented DBAs and developers to create and maintain automated solutions using Python. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your experience in database administration, automation, and scripting to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our database systems.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (top 3 must haves)

1. Extensive Automation Experience with Python:

   • 6+ years of experience in automation related to databases and undistributed DBs.
   • Proven ability to develop monitoring scripts/programs and data extraction programs using Python.
   • Strong expertise in automating tasks to ensure scalable and efficient database management.

2. Unix Experience:

   • Proficiency in shell scripting on Linux.
   • Experience administering Unix systems, including performance tuning and problem debugging.
   • Knowledge of various Unix commands for sorting and data manipulation.

3. SQL Experience:

   • Demonstrated ability to write SQL queries to extract data from databases.
   • Experience using advanced functions in SQL for complex data retrieval and manipulation.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience as a Single Store DB admin.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming in Python.
• Familiarity with Vertica DB.
