Rate: $60/hour
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: Ongoing contract

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer with strong experience in Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki networking solutions, including switching, routing, and network design. The ideal candidate will be prepared to answer complex networking questions during the interview. This role is for engineers—not admin-level individuals.
As part of the Global Network Delivery team, you will design, implement, and support network infrastructure across airports, cargo facilities, sales offices, and other locations. You will work within the company’s architectural framework, ensuring network reliability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and write network device configuration scripts with change documentation.
- Implement network changes during approved change windows (after hours as needed).
- Review and provide feedback on engineering and change documentation.
- Establish processes for testing applications and devices before deployment.
- Act as a second-tier escalation support for the network operations team.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network incidents.
- Translate business needs into technical deliverables.
- Manage small to medium-sized internal network projects.
- Create detailed network designs (physical & logical) aligned with customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on data, voice, and mobile network capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise networking and IT infrastructure.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-scale network technologies.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications such as CCNP/CCIE (preferred but not required).
- Expertise in protocol analyzers, test equipment, CA Spectrum, and Wireshark.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Cisco routers & L2/L3 switches
- Load balancing, QoS, VPN, NAT, VoIP, IPSec, Multicast, DNS, MPLS
- Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF
- Spanning-tree protocols: PVST, MSTP, RSTP
- Experience with Velocloud/Viptela SD-WAN, Aruba, Meraki, Nexus, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Zscaler.
- Basic understanding of Azure and public cloud networking.
- Firewall troubleshooting and vulnerability management experience.
- Experience with switch upgrades and refresh activities.
- Basic Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple vendors in a partially outsourced IT environment.
- Previous software development experience to drive automation is a plus.
- Microsoft Azure networking experience is a strong advantage.
