Job Description:
The client seeking a Director of Data Engineering at our Charlotte Corporate office. The Director of Data Engineering is responsible for scaling the data function in an environment with on-premises and cloud-based systems. The director must be able to manage a remote, geographically dispersed team. The director ensures that the organization always approaches work with the goal of continuous improvement. The position will manage the development and delivery of Data & Analytics standards, architecture, and systems across the company. This leader works collaboratively with the business units to assure compliance with regulatory policies and laws related to data security and privacy.
How You’ll Make A Difference:
Create and execute a plan to develop and mature our ability to measure and optimize data usage, and monetization of data.
Establish a culture in the organization that shares data and makes informed decisions on how to improve future business outcomes.
Implement data analytics discipline to identify and reduce pain points at all stages of the business processes, increasing not only revenue and profit, but also trust in the eyes of stakeholders and guests.
Ensure the Company’s cloud and on-premises data is optimized into as few platforms as possible and modeled to support data analysis requirements from all functional groups of the Company.
Create a common data framework so that all company data can be analyzed in a unified manner.
Create a data management function that facilitates the secure collection and processing of data.
Ensure that all transactional systems can communicate with the data repositories in an optimized fashion to enable business decisions near real time.
Develop a roadmap for the data and analytics function that clearly defines ownership and responsibility between the central data function and the business units.
Maintain a holistic vision of the future of data at the client’s and help leadership plan for any changes in our data strategy or needs.
We’re Looking For:
Bachelors or graduate education (BS, MS) or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as math, physics, computer science, statistics etc.
Must have experience with analytic and data visualization tools.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior leadership position managing a data and analytics team.
Experience with hospitality and entertainment company with a mixed mode data environment is desirable.
Hands on experience with Python, SQL, and relational databases. Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
Have previously led large corporate data platform projects.
Experience with open-source data & analytics tools.
Experience working with multiple executive level business stake holders.
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
