Title: UX Research Director
 Location: Remote (PST Hours)  
Duration: Initial 6 Month Contract with extensions

Compensation: $90-110/HR
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders

We are seeking a Director of UX Research to lead, scale, and elevate our user research practice. This role is responsible for defining research strategy, building and mentoring a high-performing team, and ensuring user insights directly influence product, design, and business decisions. The ideal candidate is both a strategic leader and a hands-on practitioner who knows how to turn insights into impact.

Responsibilities

Own and drive the UX research vision and strategy across products and platforms

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of UX Researchers across multiple experience levels

Partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Leadership to embed research into decision-making

Establish and evolve research frameworks, standards, and best practices

Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations

Advocate for the user at the executive level and influence roadmap prioritization

Oversee end-to-end research initiatives including discovery, usability testing, and longitudinal studies

Manage research operations including tools, vendors, timelines, and budgets

Ensure research outcomes are measurable and aligned with business goals

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in UX research or related fields

4+ years of people leadership and team management experience

Proven track record of influencing product strategy through research insights

Deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

Strong storytelling and communication skills, especially with senior stakeholders

Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments

Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on research when needed

Preferred Experience

Experience building or scaling a research practice from the ground up

Background in enterprise, SaaS, or complex digital ecosystems

Familiarity with analytics, experimentation, and mixed-methods research

Experience partnering with global or distributed teams
