Position Summary
A leading electronics manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer (System Integration) to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and complex system manufacturing at a newly scaling facility in the Austin area.
This is a highly floor-focused, execution-driven role in the early stages of operations. The engineer will play a critical part in building manufacturing lines from the ground up, including line design, equipment installation, and hands-on production support.
As operations stabilize, the role will evolve toward process optimization, system design, and more traditional manufacturing engineering responsibilities.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys startup-style environments, takes ownership of execution, and wants direct impact on how advanced systems are built on the factory floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead NPI development including feasibility studies, line layout design, capacity planning, process flow, PFMEA, DFX, equipment selection, fixtures, and automation
- Design, install, and launch system integration manufacturing lines with hands-on involvement in bring-up activities
- Perform mechanical system integration including BOM validation, cable routing, and build verification
- Actively support early production by working directly with technicians and operators on the manufacturing floor
- Integrate and validate complete system builds to ensure mechanical and system-level compliance
- Develop SOPs, standard work documentation, and train production personnel
- Define and manage NPI workflows, ramp schedules, and execution tracking
- Support implementation of new manufacturing technologies including advanced cooling solutions and next-generation system builds
- Establish standardized procedures to improve quality, consistency, efficiency, and throughput
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution
- Partner with Production and Quality teams to improve yield and stabilize output
- Validate and implement engineering change orders (hardware and firmware)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cost, efficiency, and manufacturing performance
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, System Integration Engineering, or similar roles within electronics or complex system manufacturing
- Strong hands-on experience with production line setup, NPI launches, or factory ramp-ups
- Familiarity with Final Assembly, Test, and Pack (FATP) manufacturing environments
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in production settings
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, evolving manufacturing operations
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Experience
- Server, data center, or advanced system manufacturing
- Exposure to liquid cooling or thermal system integration
- Experience in contract manufacturing or high-mix electronics production
- Direct involvement in new line builds or greenfield operations
