Title: Senior Accounting Consultant
Location: Frisco, TX
Duration: Long term
Compensation: Hourly rate will be $55HR to $65HR, pay is DOE
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
 
Skillset / Experience:

 1. High-Volume Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Perform detailed reconciliations for bank and balance sheet accounts with extremely high transaction volumes, frequently exceeding 10,000 transactions per account per month.
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve reconciling items quickly and accurately.
  • Help streamline and improve the manual processes currently used for reconciliation work.

2. Intercompany Reconciliations

  • Prepare and review intercompany account reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Ensure proper elimination of entries, alignment of balances, and timely resolution of intercompany mismatches.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain accuracy and consistency in intercompany activity.

3. Account Reconciliation Review & Staff Coaching

  • Review the work of staff accountants for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on reconciliation best practices, variance research, and documentation standards.
  • Identify training gaps and help uplift the skills of the team as we prepare for a future ERP implementation.

4. Month-End Close Responsibilities

  • Lead and support month end close processes in a high-volume environment, including journal entries, accruals, and account analyses.
  • Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and other teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

5. Support for ERP Transition Preparation

  • Assist in documenting existing manual processes and identifying areas for improvement and optimization ahead of ERP migration.
  • Help ensure account cleanliness and reconciliation accuracy to facilitate a smooth transition.
  • Provide input on process design, data quality requirements, and financial reporting needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • 5–8+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in environments with high transaction volume.
  • Strong expertise in account reconciliations, month end close, and intercompany accounting.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify discrepancies, and present findings clearly.
  • Experience coaching and reviewing the work of junior accounting staff.
  • Comfortable working in highly manual processes with the ability to recommend improvements.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (and ERP transitions) is highly desirable.
