Title: BMS Hardware Engineer
Location: Western Massachusetts
Duration: Direct Hire

What You Will Do

Under direct supervision and using established standards, you will be responsible for hardware design and software programming for HVAC control systems to meet project requirements. You will create detailed submittals to communicate design and system operation to customers, consultants, the field installation team, and subcontractors. You will also respond to basic warranty calls.

How You Will Do It

• Select hardware designs from a standard design library for:

  • Flow diagrams

  • Sequences of operation

  • Bills of material

  • Network layouts

  • Electrical schematics (as required)

• Perform software programming using established standards as the basis of design.

• Coordinate creation of drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.

• Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.

• Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules.

• Assist with loading and commissioning system and network-level controllers, as required.

• Help validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

• Gather field changes from the project team and create as-built drawings and updated software.

• Prepare documentation and/or manuals for system operation.

• Keep management and contractors/customers informed of job progress and issues.

• Assist with site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.

• Complete required paperwork including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.

• Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

What We Look For

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience installing and/or commissioning Metasys systems, including system-level controllers.

• Working knowledge and experience using Metasys tools, including:

  • RAC Schedule

  • CCT

  • SCT

  • Visio

• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

• Demonstrated technical aptitude.

• Advanced computer skills, particularly with computer-related drafting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or 5+ years in the HVAC field.

• Experience installing and/or commissioning control systems (including system-level controllers) or experience designing/evaluating mechanical/electrical building systems or control systems.
