Role Summary:
The Business Analyst will support the delivery of the New gTLD Program by developing and optimizing processes and tools to manage the evaluation and processing of New gTLD applications. Additionally, the Business Analyst will serve as a support to key subject matter experts and process owners in the delivery of the program. This role will be part of a larger team of Business Analysts who will serve in various roles in the program based upon resource gaps or needs as workload shifts.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support Program Leads and Subject Matter Experts in delivery of the New gTLD Program.
- Support ICANN subject matter experts in assessment of evaluation issues for escalation through governance processes, including drafting of problem statement, resolution options and documentation of work completed to date to resolve issues.
- Develop processes and detailed procedures to document ways of working, where current gaps in process documentation exist.
- Develop tools to support efficient and effective execution of team activities, in alignment with larger system capabilities to ensure streamlined delivery of processes
- Assess and become fluent with policy requirements, and process documentation, procedure documentation, and system functionality in work areas assigned in order to provide operational support and to provide additional subject matter expertise to key stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements and tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
- Support governance and escalation processes through assessment of issues, risks, and open questions. Develop documentation and other materials as needed to drive resolution.
- Support service owners in delivery of service through research of topics, drafting materials, management of issues, etc.
- Develop knowledge of assigned services to provide additional subject matter expertise to key stakeholders
- Coordinate and communicate effectively across multiple project teams and functions to support delivery of processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in a business analyst role
- Experience as a business analyst on a large technology or business transformation project is preferred where process assessment and documentation were part of the role.
- Consulting experience in a BA role is preferred, with multiple clients that demonstrates ability to quickly learn new processes and ways of working.
- Experiencing assessing, designing, and optimizing business processes is required.
- Familiarity with process optimization methodologies such as Kizan, Lean, Six-Sigma, Business Process reengineering, Total Quality Management, SIPOC, etc. is preferred.
- Experience as a data analyst or reporting business analyst, with familiarity on how to gather reporting requirements, assess reporting business rules, and design reports and dashboards
- Experience with business user driven reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Experience with Smartsheet is not required, but is preferred
- Experience working in global companies across multiple countries, cultures and time zones is preferred.
