The Enterprise Applications organization is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Systems Engineer. The Platform Systems Engineer works with the corporate infrastructure and services that support servers, services, and network staff involved in the implementation, migration, and maintenance of solutions across the global enterprise.

This role requires experience designing, implementing, and supporting mid-to-enterprise level systems solutions. The engineer will routinely participate as a leader or key contributor on local and global projects, while assisting in establishing policies, procedures, and standards across the IT organization.

The position will contribute to improving the team's overall management of servers and services globally and participate in major global initiatives including automation, virtualization, file services, and Linux server environments, with a strong focus on the Azure cloud ecosystem.

A strong Senior Systems Engineer is a self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and drives new solutions to keep the organization ahead of evolving technical needs. Working directly with project management and other IT teams, this role will help shape infrastructure and service decisions that impact the organization for years to come.

The position also works closely with the Security team to review proposed configurations prior to implementation and to resolve any issues related to existing infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of various Linux infrastructure versions.

• Participate in ad-hoc technical initiatives, researching and implementing new technologies as the organization continues to transition toward more virtualized and cloud-based environments.

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud computing architecture.

• Deploy, configure, and optimize server and networking infrastructure.

• Perform operational tasks related to disaster recovery, patching, backup processes, and business continuity planning.

• Implement and support configuration management tools.

• Monitor and maintain servers and enterprise services infrastructure.

• Collaborate with internal teams to understand their technological requirements and propose efficient, scalable solutions.

• Document processes and operational procedures to enable the IT Operations team to support and maintain deployed systems.

• Work within a team environment to develop best practices and improve both existing infrastructure and new implementations.

• Produce detailed documentation on configuration standards, troubleshooting procedures, and infrastructure design.

Qualifications / Skills

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer with a proven ability to play a significant role in managing and completing complex technical projects.

• Strong foundational knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including virtualized environments, storage systems, and cloud architecture.

• Hands-on experience with the following technologies:

• Azure Cloud Infrastructure

• Azure NetApp Files

• Azure native services such as Azure Key Vault (AKV) and Cloud Functions

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

• Linux (RHEL)

• Programming experience, preferably Bash scripting.

• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Experience with Puppet configuration management.

• Experience with VMware administration.

• Ability to develop custom solutions to diagnose and solve complex IT infrastructure issues that cannot be addressed through standard commercial tools.

• Ability to stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their relevance and applicability to the organization.

• Familiarity with modern cloud-native architectures.

• Experience working in hybrid environments with multiple system dependencies.

• Strong expertise in Linux systems and computer networking is highly beneficial.
