Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data engineering solutions that support enterprise data warehousing, analytics, and legacy system integrations. This role focuses on hands-on development and optimization of scalable data pipelines, data models, and data platform capabilities.

The role also supports ongoing enhancements to legacy integrations and data applications while helping evolve the organization's modern data platform.

Position Responsibilities:

• Data Engineering & Data Warehousing Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, transformations, and integrations supporting the enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms. Build scalable ELT/ETL processes and implement efficient data models to support reporting, analytics, and operational data needs.

Platform & Tooling Implementation:

• Develop and maintain solutions using modern data platforms and tools including Snowflake, dbt, Matillion, and other ELT/ETL technologies. Work with both cloud-based and on-premises data environments to support enterprise data workflows.

Legacy Integration Support:

Maintain and enhance legacy data integrations and applications. Assist in modernizing existing systems while ensuring continuity of critical data processes and minimizing disruption to business operations.

Agile Delivery:

Work within Agile development processes to plan, prioritize, and deliver data engineering solutions. Collaborate with product owners and team members to refine backlog items and deliver features aligned with business priorities.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years developing and implementing data warehouses, data pipelines, or cloud-based data solutions.

Experience should include:

• Strong experience in data engineering and data warehousing development

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake

• Experience with dbt, Matillion, or other ELT/ETL tools

• Strong SQL development skills

• Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python or PowerShell

• Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira

• Experience supporting both modern data platforms and legacy data integrations

• Experience with data modeling techniques and best practices

Competencies & Skills:

• Strong expertise in data warehousing concepts and data pipeline design

• Excellent SQL and data transformation development skills

• Experience with databases such as Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or HANA

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS

• Experience working with both cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure

• Understanding of Linux and Windows environments

• Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Lucidchart

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
