Location: Beaumont, TX 
Length: Ongoing Contract
Rate: $75-80/hour

Job Summary

A leading organization in the energy sector is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to support a Gas Supply Expansion Project within the natural gas midstream and terminal space. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with established Quality Management Systems and compliance with industry standards.

The Quality Assurance Lead will play a critical role in defining quality expectations, collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party partners, and ensuring consistent execution across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Oversight

  • Lead the implementation and adherence to the organization’s Quality Management System across all project phases
  • Define and communicate quality expectations, standards, and specifications to internal teams and external partners
  • Establish equipment criticality classifications and quality requirements during the engineering phase

Engineering & Procurement Support

  • Review and endorse Quality Plans from engineering, materials, fabrication, and construction partners
  • Provide quality standards and requirements to suppliers during procurement activities
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations with a focus on quality criteria
  • Review and approve Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses, including quality-related contractual language

Fabrication & Construction Quality

  • Support fabrication vendor selection through shop inspections and quality assessments
  • Establish and implement field inspection protocols, test packages, and non-conformance reporting processes
  • Conduct field quality assessments during construction, including review of workmanship and test results
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards across all on-site and off-site activities

Stakeholder & Interface Management

  • Resolve discrepancies in quality specifications between project requirements and third-party interfaces
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations
  • Provide ongoing reporting and communication to ensure transparency and accountability

Documentation & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain a centralized quality documentation repository for final project turnover
  • Ensure all quality documentation, inspections, and reports are properly recorded and maintained

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role, preferably within oil & gas, midstream, or terminal projects
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and inspection processes
  • Experience supporting engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases
  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Work Environment

  • Office-based role with regular collaboration across project teams
  • Typical schedule: 40–50 hours per week, with occasional weekend work as needed
  • Open to candidates based on proximity (flexibility available)

  • Compensation is flexible and will be determined based on experience and qualifications
