ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented Frontend Engineer (UI Engineer) to explore new initiatives with the Frameworks team. In this role, you will evaluate and prototype next-generation component library frameworks while helping define new ways of building user interfaces powered by AI agents.

The Frameworks team owns and evolves the Bricks component library, a multi-framework design system built using Web Components and Stencil. This role will focus on assessing alternatives to Stencil and shaping the future of scalable, cross-framework UI development.

This is a highly exploratory and impactful role at the intersection of modern frontend engineering, design systems, and AI-driven development.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

You will play a key role in redefining how UI is built and consumed across platforms. This includes researching emerging technologies, building proof-of-concepts, and contributing to the evolution of a widely used component library.

You’ll also work at the cutting edge of AI + UI, designing and implementing intelligent agents that interact with component libraries and development workflows. This is an opportunity to influence both developer experience and product innovation at scale.

The ideal candidate is:

• Highly skilled in modern frontend technologies and architecture
• Strong in technical research, evaluation, and recommendation writing
• Comfortable working with AI tools and building agent-driven workflows from the ground up

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (Top 3 Must-Haves)

1. Strong Frontend Engineering Expertise (5–7 years)

• Deep experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS across modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.)
• Strong understanding of responsive design, performance optimization, and scalable UI architecture
• Proven ability to build production-grade, maintainable frontend applications

2. Component Library & Web Components Experience (1+ years)

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining reusable component libraries using Web Components
• Strong background in component API design (e.g., inputs, forms, accessibility, configurability)
• Experience ensuring accessibility, consistency, and cross-framework compatibility in shared UI systems

3. Design System Framework Experience

• At least 1+ year of experience with a tool used for building component libraries (Preferable Stencil)
• Familiarity with design system architecture and multi-framework distribution strategies
• Ability to evaluate frameworks and produce technical comparisons, tradeoff analysis, and recommendations

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with AI/agentic tools and workflows (e.g., building or integrating AI agents)
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and/or building MCP servers
• Exposure to tools like Claude, OpenAI APIs, or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Experience improving developer workflows through automation or intelligent tooling
