Title: Field Technician III                                                           
Location: Reno, NV
Hourly Rate: $28 – $33
Duration: Long Term Contract to Potential Hire
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US

As a Field Technician, you will work both independently and as part of a team to support critical infrastructure environment. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to respond quickly to operational needs. You will be responsible for installing hardware, troubleshooting systems, maintaining documentation, and resolving issues within the data center.

Key Success Factors

• Experience with Fiber, OTDR Testing, and Ethernet. 
• Viavi, EXFO, Fluke OR JDSU Meter experience.
• RFC/BERT/10GIG Testing.
• Maintenance on Servers and Switches. 
• Experience with doing Maintenance on Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, Alcatel, Nokia, Nortel or any related products. 
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently resolve tickets and follow SOPs
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using ticketing systems to manage tasks and priorities
• Experience working in a data center environment
• Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional/military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, network engineering)

Day to Day

• Install and maintain server racks and hardware components
• Perform break-fix repairs and troubleshoot hardware and network issues
• Respond to operational incidents impacting service availability and escalate when necessary
• Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders (engineers, vendors, contractors, etc.)
• Participate in on-call rotations, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities
• Create and maintain documentation; contribute to process improvement

Preferred Skills:

• CompTIA A+ certification or Network +
• Cisco Certification
• Fiber Systems Certifications

Requirements:

• Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings including background and drug & alcohol
• The ability to work on call, evenings, and weekends as required
