Senior QA Analyst

Location: Nashville, TN 37246 / within approximately 1 hour / Hybrid
Employment Type: Full Time W-2 with benefits

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products. This role requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality are met.

This person will also be highly influential in driving greater adoption and maturity of Quality Assurance practices across the organization, including providing coaching to stakeholders, refining processes and templates, and bringing "quality” into project and product conversations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the QA process for various projects, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform manual testing to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA team members and other business stakeholders engaged in QA processes, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.
  • Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Participate in requirements reviews and provide feedback to business analysts on strength of requirements and applicability toward developing testing artifacts.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to developers on testability and potential quality issues.
  • Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on software quality, including metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners to ensure third-party software and services meet quality standards.
  • Facilitate and participate in QA-related meetings, such as test planning, defect triage, and project status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the Utility industry and the software being tested.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new features and functionalities, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption.
Minimum Experience/Educational Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  3. Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  4. Proficiency in manual testing techniques.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Familiarity with multiple project management methodologies and the ability to flex based on project demands.
Desirable Experience/Education

  1. Experience with Azure DevOps.
  2. Proficiency in automated testing techniques.
  3. Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar.
