About the Role
A leading media and entertainment organization is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the end-to-end release management and deployment lifecycle for critical monetization and data platforms. This role blends hands-on DevOps engineering with AWS infrastructure leadership and release governance, serving as a central coordination point across engineering, architecture, data science, and program management.
You will define and run the release strategy, build and govern CI/CD pipelines, manage multi-environment deployments, and ensure that code, configuration, and data changes move safely, securely, and reliably from development through production. This is a highly visible role focused on stability, scalability, compliance, and delivery excellence across enterprise platforms.
What You’ll Do
Release Governance & Planning
- Own the release management framework: deployment calendars, release cadence, quality gates, and approval workflows
- Enforce release governance to ensure all changes are reviewed, tested, and approved before deployment
- Coordinate with delivery leads, architects, and stakeholders to align releases with business and project milestones
- Lead cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-release validation
- Serve as the single point of accountability for releases across multiple environments and systems
DevOps & Automation
- Design, build, and manage AWS-based CI/CD pipelines for business-critical applications and data platforms
- Implement automation for build, test, package, deploy, and regression testing
- Govern branching, merging, and build strategies using Git-based repositories and AWS DevOps tooling
- Partner with engineering teams to define automated testing and quality validation
- Maintain and evolve deployment scripts, templates, and tooling to standardize and accelerate releases
Environment & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee all environments: Dev, SIT, UAT, Pre-Prod, and Production, ensuring consistency and version alignment
- Manage environment refreshes, configuration migration, data masking, and backups
- Partner with cloud infrastructure teams on provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and reliability
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness using cloud best practices and resilience frameworks
- Collaborate with centralized infrastructure teams to maintain company-wide cloud engineering standards
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with Solution and Technical Architects to implement DevSecOps best practices
- Act as the technical authority for release and deployment decisions, balancing speed, quality, and risk
- Work with cloud service teams, vendors, managed services, and SI partners to resolve release issues
- Mentor and upskill DevOps and support teams, promoting strong engineering and operational practices
Quality, Security & Compliance
- Ensure releases meet internal governance, security, compliance, and change management requirements
- Embed automated compliance checks and reporting into CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain full audit trails and release documentation
- Define rollback, contingency, and risk mitigation strategies for high-impact releases
Continuous Improvement
- Track and improve deployment metrics (frequency, lead time, failure rate, stability)
- Evaluate and introduce improvements across Docker, Kubernetes, cloud services, and DevOps tooling
- Champion a culture of automation, reliability, and operational excellence
What We’re Looking For (Summary)
This role is ideal for a senior, hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer who has:
- Deep experience with Python, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Proven ownership of enterprise-scale CI/CD and release management
- Strong production experience with observability tools (Datadog or Splunk)
- Comfort operating in regulated, audit-conscious environments
- The ability to lead releases, influence architecture, and partner across engineering and business teams
