Summary:
Seeking a technically minded People Operations Business Analyst to support and enhance HR service delivery through HR systems, automation tools, and data-driven process optimization. This role blends HR operational support with systems analysis, configuration, workflow troubleshooting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will partner across People Operations, HR functional and Technology teams, to translate business needs into system-enabled solutions, execute employee lifecycle transactions, maintain knowledge content, support HR operations, and contribute to system enhancements and efficiency projects. This is an ideal role for someone early in their HR operations, technology or systems career who enjoys problem-solving, process mapping, and building scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
HR Systems & Operations
- Execute, audit, and troubleshoot employee lifecycle transactions in HRIS, ensuring accurate configuration of business processes, approvals, and data flows.
- Support HR case workflows in the case management platform.
- Support testing of new features, enhancements, releases, and integrations by building test scripts, performing UAT, and documenting outcomes.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for system errors, workflow breaks, or data inconsistencies across HR systems.
Data, Reporting & Analytics
- Generate and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and data extracts from systems (e.g., workforce data, transaction volumes, SLA trends).
- Perform data quality audits, investigate discrepancies, and partner with HR teams to resolve issues.
- Analyze inquiry and transaction data to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation or process redesign.
Knowledge & Content Management
- Build and maintain internal and external knowledge articles within ServiceNow, ensuring structured content, tagging standards, and intuitive navigation.
- Use analytics to monitor knowledge effectiveness and drive self-service optimization.
Process Improvement & Automation Projects
- Support operational efficiency initiatives, including workflow redesign, documentation of current-and future-state processes, and sprint-based improvements in partnership with stakeholders.
- Collaborate on automation efforts leveraging HR systems and other tools (e.g., task automation, templated communications, triggers).
- Help develop lightweight automations using no-code or low-code tools (e.g., Workday EIBs, ServiceNow configurations, Excel formulas, or workflow automation platforms) to reduce manual administrative overhead.
Cross-Functional Support & Collaboration
- Ensure technical and functional requirements are clearly documented and communicated across stakeholders.
- Work closely with teams to support system-driven transactions and service delivery needs.
- Participate in standups, project planning, retrospectives, and issue-resolution working sessions.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in HR operations or HR technology; internships accepted.
- Some experience navigating Workday and ServiceNow (case management, transactions, reporting, or configuration).
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills with a high attention to data accuracy.
- Ability to document requirements, test scenarios, process flows, and system behaviors.
- Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) or other analytical tools.
Prefered
- Exposure to Workday EIBs, calculated fields, report writing, or basic business process configuration.
- Experience with ServiceNow HRSD: routing rules, category structures, case types, or knowledge bases.
- Familiarity with Agile or sprint-based project methodologies.
- Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, or HR data structures (not required, but a plus).
- Interest in low-code/no-code automation tools.
