Title: HITL Engineer
Location: 100% Onsite in Redmond, WA
Duration: 12-month contract (multi-year extensions & conversion to FTE possible)  
Compensation: $80/hr – $86/hr
Work Authorization Requirements: US Citizen

Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Systems Engineer to design, build, and execute complex aerospace hardware test setups. This role blends systems engineering expertise with practical lab skills, supporting the integration of hardware and software in advanced test environments.


Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain hardware-in-the-loop test environments for aerospace systems.
• Integrate hardware and software components, ensuring seamless communication between devices (e.g., avionics boxes and supporting systems).
• Develop and maintain Linux-based scripts to automate test processes and configurations.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other test instruments.
• Assist with electrical harnessing and wiring as needed.
• Support CI/CD processes and test automation tools such as Jenkins.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve system-level issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in hardware/software integration or systems engineering.
• Strong Linux experience; proficiency in shell scripting is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with hardware-software integration and test setup.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems and test equipment usage.
• Experience with aerospace hardware testing preferred.
• Familiarity with harnessing and cabling practices is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in avionics or aerospace systems.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and lab instrumentation integration.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software interactions independently.
