Title: Freight Analyst
Location: Rockwall, TX
Duration: Full-Time
Compensation: $60k – $70k
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Skillset / Experience:
The Payables Freight Analyst will be responsible for accurately processing and reconciling freight related accounting data. This role bridges the gap between logistics and accounting to ensure transportation costs are accurate, audited and paid timely. Must be able to multitask, be detail-oriented, and have strong data entry and communication skills, both written/verbal.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Audit and validate freight invoices against carrier rates, bill of ladings (BOL) and quotes
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers, internal logistics team, and procurement.
- Maintains Accounting records, backups, and electronic filing in an accurate manner.
- Performs data entry into accounting records.
- Assist in processing vendor invoices for payments.
- Assist with preparing monthly accruals to track overall freight expenditure.
- Monthly reporting related to vendor and customer freight expenditures. Analyze for potential cost savings and process improvements
- Verify that charges billed or incurred comply with company policies.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
- Complete other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred.
- At least two years' experience in a high data entry accounting environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to reconcile accounting data to external data and track issues is a must.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical ability.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in English.
- Capacity to work overtime as needed.
