Feature Lead

The Feature Lead supports a large, complex system modernization program by enabling downstream technology and business teams to successfully understand, assess, and act on upstream design changes. This role focuses on interpreting upstream design changes by assimilating design documentation, synthesizing conversations, and translating complex changes into clear, actionable guidance tailored to diverse audiences This is an enabling and coordinating role that works across 30+ teams. The Feature Lead drives clarity, continuity, and shared understanding by managing information flow, communication artifacts, meeting outputs, and task visibility.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Change Assimilation

  • Consume and deeply understand completed upstream design documentation.
  • Translate design, data, and conceptual changes into clear explanations for downstream systems and business users. Some of this may be accomplished through Copilot prompting, with careful review for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify and articulate what has changed, why it matters, and where downstream impacts may exist (data, processes, or systems).
  • Tailor documentation and communication based on each team’s technical maturity and business context.

Meeting Synthesis & Knowledge Management

  • Attend recurring and ad hoc program meetings across multiple workstreams.
  • Review and validate Copilot generated meeting notes for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
  • Aggregate inputs from multiple meetings into cohesive narratives organized by topic or concept.
  • Clearly distinguish:
    • Historical decisions vs. current direction
    • Evolving guidance vs. finalized outcomes
    • Dates of discussion and most current understanding
  • Maintain continuity of knowledge as conversations evolve over time.

Communication & Artifacts

  • Create and maintain clear, high quality deliverables including:
    • Word documents (narratives, summaries, meeting minutes, change detail)
    • PowerPoint decks (concept overviews, change summaries, reference materials)
    • Excel matrices (detailed data related to change assessments, team responsibilities)
  • Ensure materials are consumable, actionable, and appropriate for varied audiences (technical, business, leadership).

Coordination & Support

  • Manage calendar invites and logistics for recurring and ad hoc meetings.
  • Track tasks and deliverables aligned to the Project Manager’s integrated plan.
  • Maintain visibility into:
    • Tasks owned by the Feature Lead
    • Tasks owned by downstream teams
  • Proactively follow up with teams to support completion, clarify expectations, and surface risks or gaps.
  • Act as a connective layer across teams to reduce churn, misalignment, and rework.

Stakeholder & Customer Facing Engagement

  • Engage with technology and business teams in a consultative, customer focused manner.
  • Actively listen to team concerns, questions, and constraints.
  • Adjust communication style, depth, and format to meet each team’s needs.
  • Build trust by providing clarity, consistency, and responsiveness.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong ability to synthesize complex information across documents, meetings, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success translating technical and data driven concepts for non technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience creating professional deliverables in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience coordinating across many teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to successfully partner with a Project Manager, workstream Manager, and multiple teams, operating within structured delivery plans.
  • Background in customer-facing roles supporting complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives (technical or non-technical).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting downstream change assessment.
  • Comfort working with AI generated content and validating outputs.
  • Experience in highly matrixed or cross functional environments.
  • Thrives in ambiguity and evolving information landscapes
