Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Houston, Texas

Compensation: $38-$43 per hour

Skillset / Experience:
Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of the general ledger. This position oversees complex accounting activities, supports month-end and year-end close, prepares financial analyses, and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
 
General Ledger & Month-End Close

• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolving issues proactively.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and capital project tracking.

Reconciliations & Compliance

• Perform and review bank, intercompany, and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits through timely preparation of documentation.

Cross Functional Support

• Collaborate with AP, AR, operations, and leadership to ensure proper financial treatment of transactions.
• Provide guidance to junior accountants and help resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
