Job Title: Principal Tax Specialist / Tax Accountant

Role Summary

The Senior Tax Specialist is responsible for managing highly complex tax functions and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role prepares and reviews tax filings, monitors regulatory changes, supports audits, and provides technical tax expertise across the organization. The position requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence business decisions with significant financial and operational impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns and reports related to federal, state, local, property, sales/use, and other applicable taxes
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required tax filings and regulatory deadlines
  • Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and assess the impact of legislative and regulatory changes
  • Review business proposals and transactions for tax implications and recommend compliant, tax-efficient approaches
  • Assist with tax audits and documentation requests
  • Support tax considerations related to mergers, acquisitions, and other business initiatives
  • Collaborate with accounting, billing, and cross-functional teams on tax-related matters
  • Develop and maintain audit trails and ensure integrity of tax data and reporting
  • Participate in the development and execution of tax strategies
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Provide guidance across multiple projects and initiatives, acting as an advisor or project lead when required
  • Exercise broad discretion in decision-making with minimal oversight; decisions may significantly impact business outcomes, budgets, and operations

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in tax, accounting, or related disciplines
  • Someone who is experienced in tax accounting
  • US and Non US compliance (US International Compliance)
  • Provisioning – non us, doing tax provision work for non us companies
  • Self sufficient
  • Tax adjustments
  • Coordinate with third party providers
  • One source tax provisioning experience is preferred
  • Run provision packages where data is pushed and pulled through excel – otp
  • Sap, Strong Excel, One Source tax and HFM is required
  • Flexible in preparation and review of compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field preferred
