M&E QA/QC Support Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced M&E QA/QC Support Engineer to support quality assurance and control efforts on large-scale, mission-critical construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and monitoring quality programs, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC program metrics to evaluate project performance and quality outcomes

  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions

  • Support the development and scaling of on-site QA/QC teams, including coaching and training personnel

  • Establish and improve QA/QC processes, standards, and documentation to enhance efficiency and consistency

  • Act as a key liaison between design, construction, facility operations, general contractors, and vendors

  • Coordinate and resolve quality issues across cross-functional teams

  • Review and provide feedback on MEP submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards

  • Conduct audits of QA/QC activities for staff and subcontractors to ensure adherence to procedures

  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation, vendor manuals, and technical deliverables

  • Develop and review construction quality procedures (CQPs), test plans, commissioning scripts, and checklists

  • Support commissioning activities, including review of testing levels, startup, and energization schedules

  • Assist in turnover documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy

  • Track and drive resolution of open issues within project management systems (e.g., BIM tools)

  • Participate in factory witness tests (FWTs) and perform on-site inspections of installed equipment (OFCI/CFCI)

  • Support development of QA/QC dashboards, reporting, and presentations

  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, including QA/QC reviews, commissioning meetings, and stakeholder syncs

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in QA/QC within mission-critical or large-scale construction environments

  • Strong experience across MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, controls, and/or instrumentation)

  • Experience with Design-Build and/or Design-Bid-Build project delivery methods

  • Proven experience supporting or leading QA/QC and commissioning (Cx) programs

  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, and vendors

  • Familiarity with mission-critical systems such as power distribution, cooling infrastructure, or similar complex systems

  • Hands-on experience with construction quality tools and platforms

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar tools

  • Strong vendor management experience

  • Self-driven with the ability to operate independently and make decisions in ambiguous environments

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable to quality standards
