Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual (AV) Programmer to develop, implement, and support AV solutions that integrate with telecommunications and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX), video conferencing platforms, and network-based AV solutions, and will work closely with telecom engineers, data analysts, and IT teams to deliver integrated AV experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, test, and deploy AV control systems and interfaces for enterprise-scale installations.
- Integrate AV systems with telco platforms, data infrastructure, and unified communications (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, Cisco Webex).
- Develop APIs and scripts to automate AV control, data capture, and system diagnostics.
- Collaborate with network and telecom engineers to ensure AV solutions align with IT standards (QoS, VLANs, IP management, etc.).
- Maintain and update AV firmware and software in coordination with security and IT compliance standards.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AV systems across conference rooms, NOCs, training facilities, and command centers.
- Document system architecture, programming logic, and network configurations.
- Stay current on emerging AV-over-IP technologies and standards (e.g., Dante, NDI, AVB).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AV Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in AV programming and control systems integration.
- Proficiency with Crestron (SIMPL, SIMPL+, VT Pro-e, or Crestron Studio), Extron, or AMX programming platforms.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and telecom systems (SIP, VoIP, QoS).
- Experience with APIs, scripting (Python, JavaScript, or Lua), and AV asset management tools.
- Understanding of AV signal flow (HDMI, HDBaseT, audio DSPs).
- Excellent documentation and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CTS or CTS-I certification (AVIXA).
- Crestron Certified Programmer or similar certification.
- Experience with AV-over-IP (Dante, SDVoE).
- Familiarity with telecom infrastructure (e.g., fiber, patch panels, structured cabling).
- Knowledge of cloud-based AV and collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms).
Work Environment:
- Occasional travel to remote sites for installation and support.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in ceiling or under-floor installations.
- Availability for after-hours support during critical deployments or outages.
