Title: Senior Platform Engineer Virtualization SME
Location: Nashville, TN can be remote. Must be in or relocate to Nashville to become and FTE.
Duration: 3+ months potential contract to hire.
Compensation: $55 to $60 W2
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US 
 
Job Description:  

  • Lead the implementation of the client's Virtualization Infrastructure strategy to support full CI/CD pipeline agility for service consumption.
  • Identify and implement ongoing opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Assist in maintaining development standards complying with enterprise standards, ensuring solutions are optimally designed, secure, well performing and integrated with other solutions.
  • Deliver the objectives associated with problem management, such as customer communication and root cause analysis reports.
  • Foster key vendor relationships and contract performance.
  • Document internal SOPs, processes, and training to ensure team members are successful in DevOps environment.
  • Lead the team with internal infrastructure projects which may require cross departmental coordination to achieve goals.

 
Skillset / Experience:  

  • 6+ years related work experience with Nutanix/VMware or other virtualization platforms
  • 3+ years related work experience in DevOps utilizing SDLC agile methodology
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • DevOps in Public and Private Cloud Environments
  • Nutanix and VMware Virtualization Platforms and Services
  • Scripting Languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, PowerCLI, JSON, KSH, YAML)
  • Orchestration tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible)
  • Infrastructure Configuration/Automation development (Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet)
  • Cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Bluemix)
  • Container and Platform services (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, CI/CD Pipeline)
  • Repository tools (GitHub, BitBucket)
  • Microsoft and Linux based Operating Systems
  • Ability to use a variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
  • Development and execution of DevOps engineering practices.
  • Strong knowledge of storage, server and networking technologies and environments.
  • Ability to comprehend business requirements to ensure technical directions are supportive.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Analytical and Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering from lean principles to agile processes.
  • Knowledge of open telemetry observability frameworks, pipelines and publish/subscribe models.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL core principles for incident, request, change, and problem management.
