Role: Software Engineer
Location: Greenway Plaza, Houston, TX (hybrid)
Duration: 1 year contract to hire
Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green Card, or Authorized to Work in the US
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of full-stack features using Angular for the front end and AWS Lambda–based services for the back end.
- Architect and optimize data flows between Amazon Neptune, S3, and Lambda-based functions.
- Develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs to serve data from Neptune.
- Ensure UI components built in Angular are performant, responsive, and aligned with business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with solution architects, data engineers, and DevOps teams on system design and deployment.
- Define and enforce best practices for code quality, performance, and security in a cloud-native environment.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decisions for the overall stack.
- Write Infrastructure-as-Code templates (Terraform or AWS CDK/CloudFormation) for repeatable deployments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize serverless workflows and database performance.
Required Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in senior or lead roles.
- Strong proficiency in Angular (preferably Angular 12+) for building enterprise-grade web applications.
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon Neptune, and integrating serverless architectures.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
- Solid skills with Node.js or Python for backend Lambda development.
- Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, API Gateway, and related AWS security practices.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
- Solid understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and cloud scalability.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of graph database query languages (e.g., Gremlin, SPARQL) for Neptune.
- Experience with AWS monitoring and logging (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Must be local to Houston and willing to work on-site Tues-Thurs.
Contract to hire after 1 year.
