Skills / Experience:
Seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a growing team in the Insurance industry. This is a second BA role supporting our current analyst as we take on major initiatives, starting with a full revamp of a provider portal. You'll play a critical role in gathering requirements, shaping user experiences, and bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
Looking for someone who's comfortable working closely with developers, SME's, and VP's especially in the insurance space (Health & Life but any type of insurance experience is acceptable). This isn't a heads-down documentation role. It's collaborative, iterative, and business-facing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and architects to elicit and document requirements
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, use cases, and wireframes/mockups
- Work closely with Claims VP to define and document claims and eligibility requirements
- Support the development of the provider portal, including understanding claim statuses, third-party interactions, and integration of rejection/approval letters
- Facilitate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with business users—note: no formal QA testing responsibilities
- Create UI mockups using Balsamiq to visualize requirements
- Perform business analytics / reporting
- Leverage Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office tools to manage project work
- Good experience with data
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry, ideally Health & Life
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Solid understanding of API's (not API development, just an understanding of what an API is)
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, or Kanban methodologies (Kanban is ideal)
- Ability to create mockups and wireframes using tools like Balsamiq
- Good experience with data
- Basic proficiency in SQL, an understanding of databases and columns and where data resides in a database
- A proactive, self-starting attitude
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite
