Principal Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Business Systems Analyst with deep expertise in Record to Report (R2R) processes and extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 ERP). This role is critical in driving system enhancements, process optimization, and operational excellence while ensuring ongoing production support and delivery of stable financial systems. The successful candidate will partner with Finance, Accounting, IT, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, resolve production issues, and support business operations globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for D365 ERP Finance & Operations in R2R areas including General Ledger, Consolidations, Intercompany, and Fixed Assets.
  • Lead requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design for financial systems initiatives.
  • Provide production support and operations delivery, including incident management, root cause analysis, performance monitoring, and SLA compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to manage enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and releases.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging D365 capabilities, automation, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Conduct testing, deployment, and post-production validation to support change management and system stability.
  • Mentor junior analysts and serve as a trusted advisor in shaping finance systems strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with D365 ERP Finance & Operations, with a strong focus on Record to Report processes.
  • Proven track record in production support and operations delivery for ERP/financial systems.
  • Demonstrated success in ERP implementations, enhancements, and post-production support.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with ability to influence stakeholders globally.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with D365FO
  • Experience with automation and reporting tools (Power BI, BlackLine, Hyperion, ServiceNow, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management).
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery models.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor, guide, and drive operational excellence.
