Title: Senior Software Backend Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA. 
Duration: 12+ months long term project
Compensation: $85-110/hr.

With the number of connected vehicles on the road increasing daily, the amount of data being generated and its significance is also rapidly increasing. The Vehicle Infrastructure & Data Analytics team is looking for passionate and versatile Software Engineers to support with the creation of the next generation backend services of how data is accessed, stored & being consented to by external customers.

This position will play a key role in the development and deployment as well as operations of APIs used at large-scale within the company as well as externally. As a Software Engineer on the team, you'll get to define and build products ranging from APIs that combine vehicle data and third-party content to enable better, faster, data-informed decision-making to GDPR-compliant APIs for company-wide use. As part of a larger global interdisciplinary team, you will also make strategic decisions that influence the platform architecture.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
•Architect and implement the workflows with varying demands of throughput and latency
•Implementation of webservices and data focused REST-APIs to improve how content is made available to internal and external consumers
•Build and optimize the data pipelines that combine new vehicle data and third-party content
•Define and implement data stores based on customer requirements and system requirements
•Evaluate performance and security requirements to run systems in production

Education & Experience
Minimum level of education required and required field of study: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience

Minimum skills required :

• Experience in one or more major programming languages (eg. GO,Kotlin, etc.). 
• Experience with cloud platforms Microsoft Azure and AWS
• Experience with Serverless software development
• Strong expertise with SQL and NoSQL engines and large-scale query processing.
• Thorough understanding of building resilient, high-throughput applications to serve millions of requests/day
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment.
• Experience with Infrastructure as code
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with international stakeholders
• Background in Kubernetes
• Experience in front-end development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Being comfortable working in an agile environment as part of a Scrum team.
• Working knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
