Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to lead our property accounting function. This role will oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and manage a team responsible for a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of property accounting, and hands-on experience with Yardi.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the property accounting team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for assigned property portfolios
• Review and approve financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Maintain and optimize accounting processes and internal controls
• Serve as the subject matter expert for Yardi, including system optimization, reporting, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with asset management, property management, and other cross-functional teams
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic insights to senior leadership
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in property accounting
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team
• Strong proficiency with Yardi (Voyager preferred)
• Deep understanding of real estate/property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and lease structures
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
