Title: SOX Testing Consultant
Location: The Woodlands
Duration: 10 – 12 months
Compensation: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
 
Skillset / Experience:
INSPYR Solutions is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Consultant with 4–10 years of strong SOX compliance and testing experience. This consultant will support the SOX testing team in evaluating and testing internal controls for a publicly traded company to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal control standards.

• Perform SOX testing for key financial and operational controls.
• Conduct walkthroughs with process owners to document and assess control activities
• Prepare detailed audit workpapers, testing documentation, and control matrices
• Identify control deficiencies and assist management with remediation plans
• Assist with annual SOX risk assessments and scoping activities
• Coordinate with accounting, finance, and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and audit standards
• Support special projects and internal audits as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2–5 years of experience in:
  • Internal audit
  • External audit
  • SOX compliance
  • Public accounting
• Strong understanding of:
  • SOX 404 requirements
  • Internal controls over financial reporting
  • GAAP and financial reporting processes
• Experience testing accounting and business process controls
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit documentation tools
